How to Keep Going When Life Feels Like Too Much

I know what it’s like to feel as though you’re carrying too much.

You wake up already thinking ahead. Before your feet even hit the floor, your mind is running through the day. What time do you need to leave? What has to happen before work? What can’t be forgotten? If you have children, there is even more to think about: lunches, school bags, uniforms, permission slips, and all the little things that need sorting before everyone gets out the door.

You move through the morning watching the clock and trying to keep things steady, often without a real moment to yourself.

Then you step into a workday that keeps asking for more. Emails come in. Messages need replies. Meetings break up the day. Deadlines sit in the background. People need answers, decisions, follow-up, and support. Your attention gets pulled from one thing to the next, and much of the day is spent responding, adjusting, and trying to stay on top of it all.

And before the day is even over, part of your mind is already turning toward home. Do you need to pick something up for dinner? Is there time to stop at the shop? Who’s picking up the kids? Is there homework to help with tonight? Did you need to reply about the parent-teacher meeting? Which bus or train do you need to catch, or how long will the drive home take in traffic?

Maybe you listen to a podcast on the way home, trying to make the time feel useful. Maybe you scroll through Instagram or TikTok just to switch off for a minute. Either way, it can feel as though this is the only bit of time that belongs to you all day.

Then you get home, and it starts again. Something needs cooking. The kitchen needs attention. The washing is still there. Tomorrow needs thinking about. If you have teenagers, you may find yourself wondering what is really going on with them, how you can help, and whether they will come to you when they need it.

And if you have a partner, there may be a few minutes together at the end of the day, yet even those conversations can be filled with what happened at work, what happened with the kids, what needs sorting, and what still has to be done. The day keeps speaking. The responsibilities keep speaking.

If you are single, the focus may fall elsewhere—swiping left or right, making plans, having drinks, and navigating a dating culture that can feel increasingly tiring and performative.

And somewhere in all of that, a question waits: when do you get to speak about how you feel? When is there time to attend to what you need? When does your own energy get cared for before it is spent again?

Then the weekend comes, and instead of opening up, it fills up. The washing that piled up during the week. The groceries. The cleaning. The errands you kept postponing. Catching up with family or friends. The things you meant to do for yourself and still have not gotten to. Even the good things ask something of you. And somewhere in the middle of it all, there is very little space left that feels like your own.

When life starts moving like this, how long can you really keep it up? You deal with what is in front of you and get pulled in every direction by whatever feels most urgent. It keeps going, and it keeps taking from you. It will only keep going unless you take back some control. The question is: how?

Many good, capable people are living this way. They are getting through their days, holding things together, and still feeling a gap between the life they are living and the life they want to direct with more intention.

That is the gap this workshop speaks to.

In this workshop, we will explore how the Four Pillars of Excellence—Critical Thinking, Personal Agency, Consistency, and Intuitioncan help you carry the load.

We will work in a small circle of 11 participants. The setting is simple, calm, and designed for real conversation. You will have space to think, reflect, and return to what matters.

After the workshop, you will leave with a practical tool you can use immediately—one that helps you manage your load more clearly and begin putting some of your energy back into yourself. For those two hours, the workshop itself becomes part of that shift: a space set aside for you to pause, reflect, and acknowledge how much of your energy has been spent elsewhere. It is a chance to spend some of that energy on yourself in a way that helps you carry life better and care for yourself better, too.

You will also be in a room with other people who understand something about the weight of modern life because they are living it too. That shared understanding matters.

This is the first in-person Zammtopia workshop, designed to give you something practical, thoughtful, and immediately useful in your daily life.

If you have been moving from one demand to the next, holding a great deal and rarely getting a moment to hear yourself think, this workshop was made with you in mind. It offers more than a breather. It gives you space to stop, reflect, and recognise how much of your energy has been going into everything and everyone else. And it gives you a way to use some of that time and energy for yourself—to sort through what is happening, find a steadier footing, and learn how to carry the load and care for yourself with more intention.

More attendees' feedback on the workshops

I found the workshop rather interesting and more beneficial to me than I expected. The part I appreciated the most was everyone’s participation and openness. The part I found quite difficult was sharing my personal experiences and keeping my emotions under control. I found the group’s dynamics to be great; one thing led on to the next, and things got quite deep and personally beneficial. I found that the way the workshop was delivered was very friendly, relaxing, and well presented. What I learned from the workshop was that not forgiving someone can cause serious problems in your life, including your health, and that anyone and probably everyone would benefit from this. ~ V. H. 1. The workshop was great.
2. Being able to open up for the first time in a number of years.
3. Talking about what I have been through
4. The delivery of the Workshop was good.
6. Has helped me to carry on even more. ~ S.P. Wellington, NZ

Just a short personal note to say thank u for today. I thought what u gave us all was a remarkable experience, and I am very grateful to have been part of it. I thought the workshop was excellent; I learnt more today than I have in a long time. We learnt from each other. It was beautiful and a wonderful adventure into a world I did not want to go to, and this is why I am grateful u were there to hold my hand. ~S.S. Wellington, NZ

Thanks for today’s enriching “The Road to Forgiving Workshop.” I’m very pleased to listen to everyone’s sharing and the opportunity to exchange experiences with the participants. I really like the discussion on the significance of having an anchor as we go through the journey of forgiving. Best wishes to you! ~ L.A. Wellington, NZ

The most valuable part of the workshop for me is realising that I had forgiven, and it was the emotions that were following. I just really enjoyed the workshop. The fee is really good value. ~ V.A. Wellington, NZ
